Leading National Manufacturer Helps Customers Save Multiple Ways
Makes Major Energy Savings Impact for Wisconsin Businesses
Madison, Wis. – Hussmann Corporation has been making products to help retailers preserve and sell fresh foods since 1906, but the company is using tools beyond its energy-efficient refrigeration equipment to help Wisconsin businesses save energy and money.
Hussmann is a leading manufacturer in commercial refrigeration with offices in multiple states and customers across the nation. The company also acts as a rebate administrator, helping its customers stay up to date on which energy efficiency upgrades are eligible for financial incentives and rebates in various states, and then helping them complete the applications.
Hussmann has found a great partner in FOCUS ON ENERGY®, Wisconsin’s energy efficiency and renewable resources program.
“Focus on Energy is more than helpful when applying for rebates,” said Kirsten Sahd, Energy Rebate Analyst for Hussmann. “They are very responsive, always willing to answer any questions, and constantly try to make the rebate process easier for Hussmann.”
While the company specializes in refrigeration equipment incentives, specifically for national grocery store customers, Hussmann also assists in application completion for whole-store retrofits, from lighting to HVAC.
From September 18, 2018 through April 28 of this year, Hussmann helped its Wisconsin customers complete projects with estimated first-year savings of 4,869,963 kilowatt hours of electricity and 29,827 therms of natural gas. Those energy savings equate to burning 3.9 million pounds of coal.
Without the assistance from national rebate administrators like Hussmann, many large national retailers would be unaware of the energy efficiency opportunities available through their utilities.
Focus on Energy partners with 107 Wisconsin utilities to make energy expertise and financial incentives available to the business, residential and municipal customers of those utilities.
A recent third-party evaluation revealed Wisconsin runs the most-cost-effective energy efficiency programs in the nation, in terms of energy savings per dollar spent. The same evaluation found every $1 invested in Focus on Energy generates $5 in benefits for Wisconsin, including economic benefits, reduced energy costs and reduced pollution.
