Marinette, Wis. – A Marinette business is enjoying improved lighting and reduced maintenance costs, thanks to a phone call to a knowledgeable contractor.
Prestige Auto Body and Towing reached out to Batteries Plus Bulbs, also in Marinette, to ask about options for replacing outdated fluorescent lighting in its shop and office spaces. Batteries Plus Bulbs, a FOCUS ON ENERGY® Trade Ally contractor, let Prestige owner Mike Reek know about the Program’s financial incentives for lighting upgrades.
“The availability of the Focus on Energy lighting incentives really helped make this project a no-brainer,” Reek said. “And we really enjoyed the help that Isaiah from Batteries Plus Bulbs provided through the whole process.”
Focus on Energy offered $1,032 in incentives to help offset Reek’s investment in hundreds of high-efficiency LED lamps, which provide better-quality lighting and will save the small business more than $1,200 annually in avoided energy costs.
“We are really impressed with how much better the lighting is. It is much brighter than what is was before and allows us to see our work much better,” Reek said. “We are currently looking at upgrading the lighting in our outdoor signage to LED technology, as well, to save on electric usage and maintenance costs.”
Prestige Auto Body and Towing is an electric customer of WPS, one of the 107 Wisconsin utilities that partner in Focus on Energy. Residential, business and other customers of those partnering utilities are eligible for the energy expertise and financial incentives Focus on Energy provides.
A third-party evaluation noted Wisconsin runs the most cost-effective energy efficiency programs in the nation. It also found every $1 invested in Focus on Energy generates more than $5 in benefits for Wisconsin, including economic benefits, reduced pollution and reduced energy costs.
