Eau Claire, Wis. – A positive first-experience has a Wisconsin property owner anticipating working with FOCUS ON ENERGY® again in the future.
PR Meier worked with one of its tenants, Pharmacare, on lighting upgrades at an Eau Claire building this summer.
“Our contractor, Tim Sell, not only did great work, but introduced us to the Focus on Energy Program in relation to our project,” Phyllis Meier said.
The lighting project included replacing more than 200 older lights with energy-efficient LEDs, and Focus on Energy gave PR Meier $528 in financial incentives to help offset the cost of the investment in energy efficiency.
In addition, the new lights will save Pharmacare more than $1,300 a year in avoided energy costs.
“After the installation, the staff in the pharmacy noticed a significant improvement in the lighting within their workspace and have enjoyed having a clean, fresh appearance in their retail space,” Meier said. “As owners of the space, we were motivated to convert and look forward to the financial incentive. The tenant is also looking forward to cost and energy savings going forward!”
Bill Lobner, an Energy Advisor with Focus on Energy, helped guide the Meiers through the project, including facilitating the incentive application process.
“In all, we are pleased with the project and hope to partner with Focus on Energy with future projects,” Meier added.
PR Meier and Pharmacare are customers of Xcel Energy, one of the 107 Wisconsin utilities that partner in Focus on Energy. Residential, business and other customers of those utilities are eligible for the energy expertise and financial incentives Focus on Energy offers.
A third-party evaluation noted Wisconsin runs the most cost-effective energy efficiency programs in the nation. It also found every $1 invested in Focus on Energy generates more than $5 in benefits for Wisconsin, including economic benefits, reduced pollution and reduced energy costs.
