Jackson, Wis. – A visit to FOCUS ON ENERGY® led to major upgrades that are increasing productivity and energy savings at a Wisconsin construction company.

COST of Wisconsin, Inc. has been a national leader in theme construction for more than 60 years, with award-winning featured at zoos, theme parks, casinos, resorts, museums, residential communities, golf courses, family entertainment centers and restaurants worldwide. But it was a project at its own facility that introduced COST CEO Jon Stanwyck to Focus on Energy.

Stanwyck explored the find an Energy Advisor tool and map on the Focus on Energy website to get in touch with Energy Advisor Shawn Bode, whom Stanwyck credits with guiding the company through a major lighting project.

COST was looking to re-light its 160,000-square-foot plant and 53,000-square-foot warehouse, and Bode helped the company identify the fixtures and LED lamps that best worked in the space and qualified for Focus on Energy financial incentives.

“Shawn was a tremendous help in navigating the various programs in place from Focus on Energy to correctly pick the fixtures and lamps that would qualify for the rebates,” Stanwyck said.

The company invested in more than 500 high-efficiency lights and fixtures, and Focus on Energy gave the company $14,464.50 in financial incentives to help offset the cost of the investment. In addition, the more efficient lights will save COST nearly $50,000 a year in avoided energy costs.

“I could not be happier with the results, both from an energy savings perspective as well as increased productivity due to better lighting,” Stanwyck said. “Thank you, Shawn and Focus on Energy, for helping make this happen.”

COST of Wisconsin, Inc. is a customer of We Energies, one of the 107 Wisconsin utilities that partner in Focus on Energy. Residential, business and other customers of those utilities are eligible for the energy expertise and financial incentives Focus on Energy offers.
