The Northland Pines School District leads by example for their 1300 students in four schools serving 474 square miles of Vilas County which includes Eagle River. The district's Buildings and Ground Manager, Dave Bohnen leads the continuous effort to ensure the district is limiting energy waste and becoming more efficient while saving money. That's music to the taxpayers' ears! Working with Eagle River Light and Water as well as Focus on Energy, the Northland Pines School District has completed 36 projects since 2014 and has seen a 30% reduction in electric use and a 20% reduction in natural gas usage.

  • Replaced non-condensing boilers with high efficiency condensing boilers at Land O' Lakes Elementary School, St. Germain Elementary School, and Northland Pines Elementary School
