Getting to Know Your CRIs

Lighting, whether it comes from the sun or the bulbs around us, is part of our daily lives. But, most of us do not know much about the specifics—we want to change that.

You may have seen “CRI” when shopping for LED bulbs and wondered what it means. It stands for color rendering index, and refers to how accurately artificial lighting shows the colors of what it illuminates. A bulb’s CRI is evaluated on a scale of 1 to 100, with 100 being the same as natural sunlight. The closer your bulb is to 100, the better it is for naturally lighting up any space.
