Tweet/Garot Mechanical, Inc.

$9,955
De Pere, WI
Wisconsin Public Service

As a leading mechanical contractor, Tweet/Garot Mechanical already knew the value of energy efficiency.

So reducing energy waste was a goal when moving their corporate headquarters from Green Bay to a retrofitted space in downtown De Pere last summer. Working with Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy program made that goal a reality.

The 60,000-square-foot office building would supply the engineering and mechanical firm with ample space for about 100 employees and future growth. For its lighting needs, Tweet/Garot worked with US Lamp of Green Bay, a registered trade ally with Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy program.

Funded by 108 participating electric and natural gas utilities, Focus on Energy is Wisconsin’s energy efficiency and renewable energy program. Since 2001, Focus on Energy information, resources and financial incentives have helped to implement projects that otherwise would not get completed, or to complete projects sooner than scheduled.

Tweet/Garot installed new, more efficient LED fixtures, occupancy sensors and day lighting harvesting controls. The day lighting controls allow the LED fixtures to drop down their light and energy output based on how much natural light is coming from windows. Tweet/Garot received a $9,955 incentive for these upgrades from the Focus on Energy program.

The lighting and controls are estimated to save Tweet/Garot more than $20,000 in annual energy cost savings. In terms of energy savings, their estimated annual reduction of 202,552 kilowatt hours of electricity is enough to power 16 Wisconsin homes for one year.

Tweet/Garot is served by Wisconsin Public Service for its electric and natural gas needs.

As one of Wisconsin’s largest mechanical contractors, Tweet/Garot’s more than 700 employees provide innovative and value-added results in engineering, fabrication, construction, and building and energy services. In addition to their De Pere, Tweet/Garot has 90,000 square feet of fabrication space at facilities in Green Bay and Wisconsin Rapids.

Tweet/Garot installed the hydronic heating system under the playing surface at Lambeau Field in 1997 to maintain optimum grass growing conditions (even during the winter). Tweet/Garot has been honored to be the Official Mechanical Contractor of Lambeau Field since its involvement with the Lambeau Field redevelopment project in 2001-03.
