Making positive energy efficiency changes to schools does not have to be expensive. Making small behavioral changes such as turning off lights and computer monitors is free and can add up to measurable savings.
The Renew Our School competition is a fun, six-week challenge focusing on no-cost actions to conserve energy. Schools contribute $200 towards their enrollment which is reimbursed by FOCUS ON ENERGY® upon successfully completing the challenge. Plus, Focus on Energy will cover the cost to install the eGauge monitor used as part of the competition, saving schools up to $1,200 in participation costs.
In addition to financial support, Focus on Energy and the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP) support schools during the competition by:
- Providing on-site guidance to help students learn how to perform an energy audit.
- Offering a toolkit including hands-on devices, lesson plans, and suggested school energy actions.
- Contributing helpful resources and recommendations along the way.
